2021 Lockdown 3, 50 paintings in 5 weeks
a long lockdown winter challenge…
Lockdown number 3 ( or is it 4?…) in West Cork winter.
No hope to travel to India to resource myself this year.
As much as the first lockdown, last Spring, seemed easy and creative, the perspective of this one feels heavy and dark…
To keep my mind busy and my mental health happy I need to give myself a challenge, at least until the brighter days of Spring.
By the third week of January I decided to embark on a creative task: 50 paintings in 5 weeks !…
From our walks within the allowed 5 k radius of the pandemic, I had lots of pictures of the surrounding rural landscape, that was all I needed to create a new collection of “Floating Anchors”…
And by the 28th of February, exactly 5 weeks later, I had a nice pile of 51 new pieces, ready to be framed !
Time had flown by, Winter was over, mood was happy, energy was high…
And the garden was calling !
